Train ride was terrible. 3 hours in a hot train each way. We went for the included "Self-Guided" tour of Berlin. Information about the tour was lacking beforehand. We expected to be taken into town and dropped off to walk around on our own. NOT what happened, there was a 90 minute bus tour that seriously impacted our ability to do our own thing. After the bus ride and lunch there was not enough time to do much. This needs a total redo or at least better explanation upfront about what it actually is.

The excursion was into Berlin - a two-hour trip from the port into Berlin and an excellent tour with excellent guide and then lunch at the Reichstag. In total - an 11-hour excursion ending in a two-hour trip back to port. Tiring but well worth the effort.

So glad that we did not go to Berlin. Instead of spending most of the day on a bus, we walked around this delightful seaside resort instead.

Excellent sea side resort . We did vintage tram to Rostock (worth visiting to see the astronomical clock in the church ) and cruise back but could have spent all our the time around Warnemünde .

We had to nix our excursion to Berlin as I was knocked out from catching a cold on day one due to the AC on the ship. The day in port was so long that after sleeping most of the day, we still had time to get up and go out to Warnemunde late in the afternoon. What a great little seaside village. We had a pleasant walk through town and down the promenade. I can't imagine that we would have spent a whole day here if I'd been well, but folks we spoke with did spend the entire day at the beach and had a blast.

Very pleasantly surprised particularly as there was a regatta on when we visited. Consequently the town was full of food and drink stalls and live music. A really pretty town with a gorgeous sandy beach. About a 10 minute walk from the ship into town.
