Tough to actually see many sites as we were in port the day of the Stockholm Marathon when the majority of the streets were closed. Took a hop on hop off boat, which I would recommend.

Take a full and varied tour to see as much as possible.

We spent a few days here before the cruise. Neat town

The Vasa museum was fantastic. It was amazing to see this huge ship that was hidden under the water in the harbor for 300 years.

Stockholm was a surprise. We did an overview excursion and could tell we want to see more.

Our ship excursion was as described, and our tour guide was very good. We were fortunate because we visited Gamla stan (old town) and the Vasa Museum in the morning and then went to the oldest town in Sweden, Sigtuna, in the afternoon. There was a marathon in Stockholm the day we were in port. The town was setting up for it when we were walking around old town, but our tour was not impacted by closed roads and marathon traffic as the marathon was in the afternoon. Old town and the Vasa Museum were great. Sigtuna was okay. Our guide did share a lot of interesting information about Stockholm and the area as were riding to and from Sigtuna.
