Again did our own thing, explored the village before booking the local bus to North Cape

Signed up for a Sami related tour but that was canceled. I ended up on a bird tour. I'm not a birder but I still found it interesting. We saw tons of puffins, garnets, eagles, even seals.

Independent shuttle bus tours to the North Cape were available, and much cheaper than the excursion offered by the ship. The town was charming and we enjoyed walking around in amazing weather.

Came for the Birdwatching Seafary, we got the most amazing event free, upwards of 14 humpback whales breaching feeding near the seawall breaker as we arrived it was a free show.

We did an interesting Bird safari here. It was a long, uninteresting bus ride to get to the port where the charter boat took us around an island that was home to thousands of birds.

You must make time to visit North Cape! Plan on a few hours to explore and take in the incredible view. Walk about town and make your way to the church for a great view. If you want to experience fresh King crab, you must do it where they catch it. They can't sell to local restaurants. Take a tour of the island, some wonderful fishing villages to visit. There’s not much here but it’s so far north so it’s understandable. Went to the North Cape (northernmost part of Europe) for some breathtaking views of the ocean and cliffs. They say the weather can turn on a dime at the North Cape (fog, rain, wind) but it was sunny and warm while we were there so we really lucked out.

Booked a small group excursion with Blue Puffin, a local company that didn't just drive up to Nordkapp and back to the ship (as the ship's included excursion did). We also met a Sami reindeer and shop owner, saw the guide's fishing village and giant crabs, and visited a local gallery. Just six of us on the tour and an excellent even in the worst weather of the trip.
