If you’re a GOT fan then you’ll love it here! Come out of the port as if you are walking to the information centre and take a right, 1 and a 1/2 miles down the road you come to kirkjufellfoss waterfall looking out at church mountain (season 7 episode 6 north of the wall) it’s a beautiful spot with breath taking views, as for the town, it is only small and not much to do but you can get a drink/snack from the cafe and just admire the scenery

Loved this stop for natural beauty. We climbed up through the nature park behind the town, coming out of the woods (well trees, Iceland doesn’t really do forest!) to beautiful hillsides and a great little waterfall, and going the other way views back to the fjord and inland to mountain valleys.

We did the Carnival excursion 'Archipelago cruise to Breidafjordur' and had a nice time. We saw a lot of puffins and other birds. We fished and ate clams and sea urchins.

This is a small town. We had to use a tender to get to port, but the dock is in the heart of the city. We had a Tour By Locals guide here who provided us with an outstanding day long experience exploring the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. The town seemed like it would have been fun to explore.

All our shore excursions in Iceland were outstanding. Each of the five stops were so different. A fascinating country and would love to revisit it someday.

We took a local bus ($20) to Kirkjufell Waterfall, which was wonderful, and near the famous mountain that has been in movies and brochures.

Took an all day tour around the Best of Snaefellsnes Peninsula. They were hardpressed to find the best. Not much to see.

Walked around town and just for fun asked about a Windstar excursion which had been cancelled as we wondered why. They said the tour had been double booked so the Windstar booking was cancelled. That was a shame because this is a very very small town with really nothing but one coffee shop.

Visited the Black pebble beach, lava field and had a great lunch across from a horse farm.
