Steller views all around. The train ride while scenic did not offer may opportunities for photos because of the windows on the train.

Wow this place is gorgeous!!! The scenery is breathtaking. In Flam, we booked our own independent tours. We took the Flam Railway up the mountain, which was probably the most scenic train journey I’ve ever taken. For 2 Adults it was about £166 return. After booking our train tickets we decided to be adventurous and take the Zip-Line back down the mountain and then mountain bike back to the ship, so we didn’t end up using the return train ticket. We booked the Zip-Line and Bikes direct and it cost £267 for 2 adults. It was an expensive day, but my goodness it was worth it and I would do it all again in a heartbeat! The train journey was about 1 hour, then we waited about another hour for our turn on the Zip-Line, which is the second longest in Europe. (Aprx 1381m long) It takes under 2 minutes to ‘fly’ down the mountain. At the bottom, there is a cafe and basic toilets! This is where you collect the Mountain bikes. The cycle back to Flam takes between 1-2 hours through the most magical, beautiful scenery you can imagine. Countless waterfalls, streams and thundering rivers. The good news is it’s almost all downhill!!! There are a few small inclines, but you can just walk if needed. My advice is to book independently and save yourself a lot of money, compared to booking with the cruise line.

Nice small part of town, great waterfalls, and the viking village was very information, the lad we had was very well spoken in explanations.

We have been here before and done the train which was excellent. This time we nursed a hangover until 11:00 then went to the Viking pub about 3 mins from the ship. Lovely pub, tell the barman what you normally drink and he will substitute for the local drink that is brewed there.

The Flaam Railroad was fantastic. The stop at the waterfall halfway up was great. The waffles at the hotel at the top made for a nice snack, and the views from the hotel were fantastic.

It was a small town. We did a private tour to the Stegastein Viewpoint.
