Nice little town worthy of half day visit, not of all day. Consequence of being in port until 7 PM is darkness obscures the most beautiful scenary of the entire cruise. Such a shame Viking does not restructure to leave Eidfjord at noon.

Went to Hardanger Juice and Cider factory for a tour and Cider tasting. On the way there we went through many tunnels one of which had a roundabout within the tunnel. Also went over Norway's largest suspension bridge.

The port itself is small and maybe doesn't have a lot to offer itself , but we did a kayak excursion offered by HAL and would highly recommend it. The paddle was quite lengthy but there was a boat that travels along with the kayaks if a break was needed (which one couple took advantage of) but there was no rush and a lot of time to see such beautiful scenery. There is a wonderful walk that is very well marked that I would highly recommend. It takes about an hour and a half to do the full circle route. It is a beautiful walk first of all up hill in a forest to a little farming community and to Viking graveyards which were interesting. There is a viewpoint over the city then you return to the town on the city streets.
