We didn't do an excursion through the ship, but we did several on our own before we sailed. The Vatican and Colosseum are amazing.

We flew in 4 days early to explore Rome before heading to the ship.

Rome is excellent. Lots of famous landmarks and very biblical.

Civitavecchia is about 1 1/2 hours drive from Rome--we hired a car & driver thru our hotel in Rome.

Rome is full of amazing history, but it’s crowded and dirty. Taxi rides are terrifying and expensive and most of the locals are incredibly rude. The exception was Taverna 51, where we had dinner one night. The food was delicious and the staff was warm and welcoming.

Old city. Beachfront but rock beaches not usable. Gas stations don’t take credit cards. Just cash or debit but no signs up to let you know.

We did an excursion not with the ship. The coliseum was amazing. I will say that Rome is a lot dirtier than I thought.

Cruise needs better options to get from ship to town for people who want to explore on their own.

Went 2 days early. Booked own trip to Vatican instead of through ship as excursions in Rome we're not listed yet through RCCL. Vatican tour to skip lines is highly recommended.

Imperial Rome Tour. We saw the forum & coliseum. Had a bland generic lunch. We did not get to go inside the Vatican. 🤬 Highly disappointed! I recommend a personal tour using viator .com with guaranteed ship return.
