We had no issues but we were repeatedly warned about pickpockets here and it was clear why once we walked around.

We spent 2 pre-cruise days on the waterfront. Many restaurants to choose and we were pleasantly surprised how affordable they were. Meals were less there than in the states for more quantity.

The port was easy to navigate. It’s about an hour or so away from the airport. About an 1.5 hours away from the main center of Rome.

Spent two days in Rome prior to embarkation. It was not enough time to enjoy all that Rome offers. Will try to return here for a week.

Transportation from Rome to Airport or Center of town has only one expensive choice. Uber not allowed

Loved spending the night before the cruise in Civitavecchia. Great food and small market at night.
