Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy Port Q&A

4.3
This will be our first cruise that does not begin and end in the US. We have never traveled to Europe. Can someone recommend the best way to get from the Port of civitavecchia to Rome? We will be staying at Hotel Britianna Rome after the cruise

The best and cheapest way is the train and I'm sure there will be others from the cruise. Check out www.trenitalia.com for schedules and prices. You can walk or take a taxi from the port entrance to the train station and then hop the direct train into the heart of Rome. Next, check out Roma Termini on Google maps to see how far it is to your hotel. It looks like about 1/2 mile, so you may be able to walk it. Most in the area speak English so don't worry. Enjoy the adventure.

We had fantastic luck with Mia Limo. They pick you up at the termial. Some cabs, ubers, and car services don't have a license for the pier and have to pick you upbat Largo Della Pace. send a friend request and I will provide as much info I can beyond the Q&A.

I’m taking the train. I don’t pack much and I’ll walk to the station (20-30min). I’ve been in the rush to get Transport after a cruise expels it’s touristy hoards, and being able to walk out certainly has its advantages.
