We have not gone yet, but we are looking at B&B Hotels because we will be traveling around Italy for 2 weeks before our cruise & they offer a nice deal for that. https://www.hotel-bb.com/en

We stayed at Hotel de Mare in Civitecchia. They picked up from airport, has a chef do a small menu dinner with wine or and dessert. But also delivered us to port all on one ticket. Small rooms but great showers and bathrooms. They were so nice snd helpful. Great sunset views!

If you want to stay closer to the port, within walking distance to the cruise ship shuttle station, there is a wonderful Rent by Owner flat that we discovered through Booking.com. She has three lock-off en-suite bedrooms and a large gathering space. They serve a wonderful breakfast. It’s located in a building next to and high above a grocery store and the train station. I can’t remember which floor, but I think it was the 12th floor. Great views, too! It’s called The Seataly Experience. We will stay there again.

We stayed at La Casa sul Mare (http://www.lacasasulmare.net/en/). It’s a highly rated B&B that’s located a short walk along the waterfront from the train station in Civitavecchia. Lots of restaurants and shops within a 10 minute walk. The owners are friendly and provide great service including driving you to the ship in the morning. They can also be found on Expedia, Booking.com , Trip Advisor etc.

We stay in Rome a few days before the cruise at a lovely B & B called Locanda Viminale.. it is close to the Termini.. walking distance to all sites except the Vatican. There are about 8 rooms off a seating area, and serve a lovely breakfast in your room at a time you choose. We will be there next week again, and take the train (1 hr) to the port.

What a great way to celebrate a special occasion! We stayed at Navona 49 pre-cruise and loved everything about it. Located in Piazza Navona, walking distance to most all the must see sites although I would suggest using transportation to Colosseum and Vatican. I booked 10 months in advance direct and got a great rate and they are very quick to reply to emails.
