We did it this summer, and it is definitely doable (we even had suitcases) there are no hills or anything so it’s quite easy. It takes about 25-30 minutes, but it’s a nice walk, as it is close to the ocean

Take the free bus from the Largo della Pace. You can walk from the station to this place, in case. For Italian standards (and I can tell you this, as an Italian born and bred myself) it was quite efficient, for once! It’s basically a large open area where several buses take you to the different ships anchored in port - you just avoid a very long, circuitous walk with suitcases this way.

I suppose you could but it's a long walk and you are going through a very industrial port. The shuttle was not expensive as I recall.

ja, je kunt erheen lopen. eenvoudig 1 rechte weg, ongeveer een half uurtje lopen. yes, you can walk there. simply 1 straight road, about half an hour's walk

Technical you can walk from the port to the train station but it's a bit of a hike. Saw some people do it but taking the shuttle bus is more convenient.

We did a shuttle last summer from the train to the port. It was super consistent and had lots going to and from. :)
