Cruised many times from Civitavecchia, we always pay for a shuttle to the port. You are dropped alongside your ship, porters will take your bags. Civitavecchia is a large port, getting to and from the train station is a walk….there is a YouTube video on getting to the port and your ship from the train station. Watch it, so you’re prepared

I'll answer yes to simplify, but Civitavecchia is a little complicated. Hopefully, Carnival provides good info in your package. You can't walk to/from the ship and depending on how you are getting to the terminal, you may have to process through Largo del Pace. it is basically a pre staging area where they shuttle you to the terminal. It is unclear on the luggage process with it. They should have porters but not sure if you will need to collect your bags from the shuttle or not.

If you're leaving from a different destination and arriving via train then yes they do have porters who will assist you with your luggage. From the port in Civitavecchia there will be those who will assist you with your luggage for a price just as in the States.
