We loved Santorini!! It’s beautiful and everything I ever dreamed it would be! Now. You have to tinder off the ship and then wait in line for a cable car to take you to the top . This takes some time. If you have a tour then go to excursions desk on the ship ahead of time and ask to be on the first tinder. We were on the second and we’re still and hour and a half late. They said this is normal and they waited for everyone to get there. So.. to get off the island you can walk down, ride donkeys, or ride the cable cars. We elected to ride the cable cars. It took us two and a half hours to get back to the ship. The people we talked to that walked down told us how difficult it was, slippery, uneven, etc. people fell and broke bones, twisted ankles and got concussions. No thanks! Just be prepared for a long line to get down. I shopped along the way while my husband waited in line. Not too bad!

Did an excursion to a different island for a volcano hike and then went up to the city on the cable car. Line was terrible to come back to the tender so had to walk down the 600 steps.

More beautiful even than it looks pictures. We did an excursion to Oia with a drop off in Fira on our own at the end

Tenders, cable cars had long waits. Donkey poop trail was unlit and nasty.

We did the excursion to Oia and Santorini. BEWARE You have to take a tender at this port and Santorini was beautiful BUT treacherous walking and the buses do NOT bring you back - you have to either wait in a long line to take the tram down or you have to walk on a treacherous trail that they say will take you 30 min and consists of shiny slippery stones and a marble edge - so many people either fell or slipped - this is NOT for seniors. I saw one woman in a stretcher with a broken leg. There are donkeys just randomly on the trail and I heard someone got kicked. IT is Completely ridiculous! The bus should bring you back!!!!

Time zone change, Starbucks, Workout and breakfast at the Taste. I did the EPIC "Behind the Scenes" tour early in the morning -- which was AWESOME! Followed the Volcano Hiking and Thermal Pool. A beautiful boat / tender ride to black sand and rock volcano. Then over to a sulfur thermal pool which was freezing cold as I was cruising at the end of spring. I live in Miami we don't do cold water. Not to mention I had no interest in the tram/funicular or the 600 steps sharing with donkeys and their feces to the top of center city. I suggest a 3-day return trip by airplane. This was a great sample day of insghts. I based this review by speaking with friends who did not cruise to this island. Dinner at Le Bistro priceless. This is the only place on the ship where you can get Veuve Clicquot on the ship included with dinner by the bottle.
