Did a ship excursion here to Oia and Fira, got to spend time in both cities. We were the only ship in town that day but it was still very busy. I booked the excursion because I had heard it was busy but I should have looked to see how many ships were in the port. If there aren’t a bunch of ships in port you can take the trolley up to Fira for 6 euro and then a bus to Oia for 1.60 euro. Would have saved me a ton e of money. Both places were stunningly beautiful. We went back to the ship and had dinner watching the sunset.

The 5 stars are for beautiful Santorini, not for the NCL excursion we did which was quite poor. Charming Oia and Winery it was called. The winery was poor and the guide left us to our own devices almost the entire time. I’ve done a similar excursion through a 3rd party at a much nicer winery with a better guide, the only reason we did this one through NCL was because we got a discount and we didn’t need to get a cable car on the way up we drove instead. On the plus side we only waited about 15 mins for a cable car down, helped by the fact we were the only big ship there that day.

Everyone needs to experience this at least once. An amazing place. Take the Donkeys up, walk down. Avoid the cable cars.

Was not impressed with this port at all. Went into OIA, but extremely crowded and was told that this was a light day. Would hate to see what it was like on a busy day.

Santorini was lovely. We had a great lunch. Taking the lift too late in the day can be a problem because of long lines, so we were sure to leave a couple hours before "all aboard" time.

We did a sailing-the-caldera excursion, and it seemed like a very good way to see the fabled sights (including Oia and others), so this was good. We also made our way to a winery that we found (Venetsano Winery) and had reservations for a wine tasting on the cliffs overlooking the caldera, and that was awesome. Fira/Thera (the town by the port you tender at) itself is a massive tourist trap, but if you like shopping, they did seem to have a huge selection of real (not just garbage) merchandise.

Very busy and very messy! No clear sign board for directions! Santorini is easy to do on your own they built the cable car to save the donkeys from carrying people up a very steep hill for the donkeys sake either take the cable car or take a boat trip to Oia and a bus back to Fira then the cable car or walk back down to the harbour costs about $30 this year
