It was really very, very hot during June. I don't think a lot of people were prepared for the heat or level of physical capability Santorini requires. The cable car situation was ridiculous. My excursion was great and was the only think that made Santorini worthwhile.

Santorini was beautiful. It was easy to take the bus around the island and we were able to do a ton on our day there

Keep in mind, when the ship arrives, in order to get to the town of Fira, you can either take a cable car up (the line is long since there are limited cable cars), take a donkey up for $10 a person which takes about 15 minutes to get all the way up, or walk 600 steps. My daughter and I decided to ride the donkey which was an interesting experience, but glad we did it. My husband and boys actually walked the 600 stairs which is doable, but exhausting. We did a private tour of Santorini. The town of Oia was breathtaking. A must see.

Please learn from our mistakes! There is simply not enough scheduled time to relax and properly do the tour entitled "The Island of Santorini and Oia Village" excursion based on our recent experience with our family and tour group that we booked while on Royal Caribbean's Odyssey of the Seas. We were so rushed the ENTIRE time, and our tour guide Maria told us numerous times she was going to leave people behind. First of all, our actual tour was 1.5 hours less than promised!! Our tour guide named shamefully abandoned us at our tour's first stop to drink free wine before her group was even disembarked from the bus. She also left several passengers behind in Fira due to her giving inaccurate bus location meet-up details (at what cab costs and stress to get back to the ship before departure, I can't even imagine!). We only ended up having 30 to 40 mins. to explore the most beautiful areas of Santorini (Fira and Oia). When we asked why all the rush, she responded in an incoherent way. Please don't be left heartbroken like us due to their inability to communicate and schedule routine tour stops. This tour made us feel like the "Amazing Race Greece", where some people will not complete the tour... and for those who will... you had better RUN!

I found Santorini stressful the Que for the cable car was absolutely ridiculous I waited well over an hour and a half and it hardly moved so I ended up getting a boat to Oia then a bus over to Fira which was extremely busy as there were 4 cruise ships docked . I ended up having to walk back down from the top as the Que for the cable car was so long it was quite a harrowing experience as the stones are slippery and it took me nearly 45 minutes to get down .

The Excursion tour guide was so bad that we almost had no time at Fira

Did the “Ultimate Santorini” excursion. Spent time hitting all key locations. Meal was underwhelming. Hoped for a typical Greek meal, instead had chicken leg with potatoes and salad.

This by far was the worst port that we visited. We had a bus tour scheduled with Shore Excursions tour company. The tour started at the dock and we had to wait in line for over an hour with an unorganized line mob to ride a cable car up to the top of the cliff. We then had to walk another ten minutes or so through stone roads to get to our bus. The bus tour was no big deal. We then had to walk back from the bus to the cable car ride and wait again on line for an hour and a half in the hot sun before getting on the car to take us down the cliff.
