Got here 3 days early and staying 2 days after the cruise. Had a giant list of things planned but didn’t work out. Spend 2 days seeing old San Juan which is a great place. Went on the Bacardi Tasting tour and drank my rum and my wife’s rum so the rest of the day was pretty much canceled. Can’t wait to come back and maybe stay in Fajardo and go across to Flamenco Beach. Thinking about going to the fort tomorrow and flying kites, hadn’t done that in a very long time.

First cruise in 2014 was the 7 day southern Caribbean. We flew into San Juan and stayed one night after we returned. The old fort was amazing and we ate at a little place on a side street. The San Juan port is think veiled chaos. We hired a ported at the end to walk our luggage to the hotel right across from the port. Sipped drinks and watched all the activity if people getting on the boat, like we had the week before. Loved San Juan.

We went on the Rain Forest Bus Tour. Our guide Devin was very nice and very knowledgeable about Puerto Rico and compared prices to the mainland. We had many stops to get out and take pictures, climb a tower and a waterfall and went to the river. The island was beautiful. Old San Juan was gorgeous. They people were sweet. Calle Fortaleza, the street with the umbrellas, was beautiful. The food was excellent, we went to a small resaurant/bar across the street from the port on the corner, MI Tierra, amazing food.

San Juan is beautiful, the old San Juan has so much to offer and to see it. I recommend maybe doing a excursion so you can learned more about this city .

Loved this stop. Me and the wife went on a cruise for our honeymoon and this stop was absolutely perfect. We did a tour of the castles, that were amazing, and stayed downtown after. Got some pastries, empanadas and dessert in Columbus square. Love the culture and look forward to going back!
