This is a hard one to review. We got off at 0800 at Nassau. Went down to deck 1 and departed. Headed through security and where they had some locals selling items. Everything was a bit overwhelming for us as it was our first time. However, besides being asked to buy something every step we took they were very friendly and didn't push too hard. We did buy stuff later on from them as they are really decent priced. When you go through here they have military police and they unlock the gates so you can go through. Then you are bombarded with taxi drivers. A guy came up gave us an amazing deal so we decided why not. We started following him he passed all the taxis on the road by the gates and headed to the ones on the sides. We get to the last one and wait for him to open it and he tells us no follow me it's around the corner. I get a funny feeling and say something to the hubby. The guy who is friendly is asking alot of personal questions especially about our daughter but we just assume he's naturally curious. Then he tries taking us around another corner this time talking fast on the phone and saying it's going to pull up soon. He switched his story on us and I felt really sick so I grabbed the hubby and started going back towards the ship the guy chased us and stopped when I started hollering for the police. He took off and we were told that he wasn't a taxi driver and that we almost got kidnapped. I'm not joking and it was very scary for us. We both are ex military and know when something is up. The guy went by Big Daddy. We ended up walking around for quite some time and just looking at everything ourselves. We ate at Goldie's which was absolutely delicious I highly recommend! We went to the distillery, cigar tour, art gallery, library and pirates museum. All on our own and all amazing! We did take a approved taxi back we grabbed a cop and he got us a taxi. Mr Ricky is amazing and has been doing his job for over ten years! He let us know what to look for in the future for taxis. Make sure that the person has two forms of ID in their lanyard. It has a yellow card and a green one. It states that they are certified and allowed to drive taxi and be where we come off of the boats and are allowed into the gates. Other than our big scare it was absolutely amazing. Our daughter danced with the locals they called her Tiny Dancer, me Big Bahama Mama and the hubby was tiny dancers daddy. Everyone was amazing there. We didn't get to do Coco Cay as it was too stormy. However we had a blast at sea that day and were glad. It was the best time ever!

Nassau was beautiful, but unfortunately we didn't get to see much because we got injured while riding scooters. I would not recommend renting scooters on the island. The one we got was not well maintained, and the steering was very loose, couple that with driving on the left through hectic island traffic and you're gonna have a bad time. Next time we go, I'll just take a taxi!

Nassau Loved this port . People can be pushy ( no more pushy than the spa staff onboard the ship ) . A polite no thank you & they leave you alone. They are very helpful suggesting places to eat . We wandered through town , took a taxi to Junkanoo beach ( nice place ). Enjoyed conch at the fish fry ( highly recommend going there but share a meal - the give you enough food to feed 4 people ).

This was our first trip to the Bahamas. Nassau more specifically. It was nice once you pushed your way past what seemed like a hoard of "used car salesmen" trying to sell you anything and everything. We didn't spend much time walking around we had to be back to catch the tour we booked. Overall what we saw was beautiful. My wife wished we'd have had time to hit the beautiful beach. We also had the opportunity to see the junior junkanoo. That was cool.

Went to Nassau in May with my adult daughters. Experienced the straw market. Sort of knew what to expect from listening to others stories. Yes, pushy people but we said no thanks and kept walking if not interested. Walked on to Junkanoo beach which was free. Rented chair and cheap umbrellas for afternoon. It was ok. Water beautiful, beach could be with a little attention. Wasn't disappointed because I wasn't expecting much.

We went to Nassau and it was great. The thing we did was just go to the beach. And the water is super pretty. The only thing we did not like is that we only were there for a short time but it was really amazing

Castaway Cay was amazing. Everything I hoped it would be. We did the 5k in the morning. They had plenty of beach chairs for everyone. We rented the all day snorkel, inner tube and one hour bike rental. But, we only used the snorkel because we loved it so much. A huge sting ray swam under us. The food was delicious and the slide was fun. I dream of the day I can return.

Loved the beautiful waters here however, if you are going to Freeport please book something to do or it's a snooze fest! I really enjoyed Nassau though.

Nassau- people are too pushy. Invading personal space. Straw market not worth going to. Felt like I was being mauled. Even the higher end stores were pushy. Once you go out of the port gates be prepared to be mauled!
