Walked to Junkanoo Beach (about 15 minutes). Shops and restaurants on the way. Felt very safe. Beach was a little dirty, but the water was beautiful. Rented 2 chairs and an umbrella for $30 for the day, but this is optional. Places on beach to rent watersports, food and drink options, etc.

Just got home from a two night cruise to Freeport, Bahamas. We sailed on the Grand Classica (Bahamas Paradise Cruise line) . We had a great time. Staff was attentive and friendly. The ship is an older ship, it was clean and maintained. Could use some updates. Food in the main dining room was very nice. Entertainment was good as well. Freeport was fun. Taxi ride was an adventure but a good time. Great short cruise for a quick get away

Great port to use as an extra ship day and utilize the amenities on board with less people being on ship. You will not miss anything if you skip this port.

Nassau is one of my fav ports. Lots of things to within walking distance. Shops, foods, drinks & beautiful views of the water. Once you get passed the taxi guys, its pretty chill.

Jacksonville cruise port is one of the easiest cruise ports to use. The people are always smiling and so helpful. If you are gonna cruise try Jacksonville Fla you will not be disappointed.

Came back today from 3 day cruise to Nassau on carnival conquest. Loved it. Very nice people working in that ship. Loved the king bed. Saw a couple of other cruise ships including two carnival ships legend and freedom.

I’ve been to the Bahamas several times. However we’ve never done any excursions just did some shopping or stay on the boat. Does anyone have any recommendations for free beaches that we could go to.

Love Bahamas. Been here a few times, but this is the first time we actually walked around on the main st. We were suppose to go to Atlantis but it was thundering and lighting in the am and they said the water park was closed. Although a short time later the sun came out and it was beautiful the rest of the day. Got off the ship and took a short walk to the main st. Went to straw market and shopped around. Yes the town is a little run down and they are pushy about selling things but they are trying to make a living and I get that. Just politely say no and keep walking. Bought some great hand carved wooden souvenirs. Watch out for the hair braiders, try to talk down the price it gets expensive. Daughter had half of the top of her head braided and it was 48 bucks.
