Second time we've done same excursion: Lifestyle VIP beach. All the drink and food and actual beds and hammocks on the beach. Our favorite

We spent the day at Ocean World and it was great! We got to swim with dolphins, watch the sea lion show, watch people swim with sharks, and we’re able to hold/interact with parrots and other birds. We got to do a little shopping and had lunch there too. We really had a great time! Afterwards we walked around the port and it was beautiful and we got to shop a little more.

Mamajuana. Make sure to try some. I brought home the dry root and have been making my own blends. Highly suggest giving it a try. Just add Rum - wait a week - drink the Rum... now add Red Wine and Agave - wait a week and Enjoy. Keep adding more to the mix to keep enjoying.

We did the "Eat, Drink & Be Merry" city tour with Iguana Mama tours and it was the highlight of our trip! Absolutely loved it! The walk out of the port area to meet the bus was a little bit of a trek, but definately doable, just head straight there after getting off the ship. We didn't get to see much of the port itself as the tour took the vast majority of our time, but what we did see was very nice and we will definitely explore it more next time we're there.

Don’t love this port. It’s not on a beach at all. Was built by Carnival and seems to be in the middle of nowhere . There is a small shopping village with predictable merchandise and a large pool with a slide. I have a nicer pool in my community in FL so was not impressed. Couldn’t do many of the excursions here since I was traveling with my Mom. Zip lining or hiking up waterfalls would be a bit much for us. After looking around the port area we returned to the ship.

I ended up loving this port! Hired a taxi who became a tour guide. We stopped at the amber museum & fruit stand before going to Playa Dorada. The beach was beautiful and had free lounge chairs & umbrellas. On the way back he showed us the malecón & the fort. We then spent a little time at the great pool at the port.

Was here 2 yrs. ago and looking forward to be back in 9 days. Lots to to do in Amber Cove right off the pier. Plenty of water activities. Plenty of stores to buy souvenirs.🍸

The best experience ever. We did the excursion that take you to the ranch and the Brugal. We had some sancocho, danced some merengue and learned a lot about the Dominican Republic. We went to the plaza, the catholic church, the chocolate factory and the cigar club. I handmade a cigar, took a picture with the Brugal owner and made a lot of friends. I would love to go back to the DR. Beautiful place. Beautiful people.
