We did not need passports when we were there on Carnival Horizon. We do take ours just in case you miss the ship and you need to fly back home.

No only sail and sign card

Sail n Sign card is probably all you need to show. It's a good idea to carry picture ID and a photocopy of your passport

We took ours but wasn’t asked for. We were there in Nov 22

No you sure don't.

You just need your sail away card. However, they have a place to get your passport stamped if you want.

Just be aware that if you do get your passport stamped it is not an official stamp and is considered a novelty stamp. It can void your passport.
