Just be cautious. This is NCL's private island and is designed to be a profit maker. Your on-board food and drink credits don't count here. Also, shops are way over-priced. We tried to buy a statue here and they quoted $245. The same statue in Costa Maya was $45 after bargaining. Glad we waited to buy it. Be careful paddle boarding too. Lots of fun, but not for novices. There is coral and jellyfish everywhere and you can't risk falling in.

I was very disappointed with Harvest Caye. But the NCL river tubing was okay because it got you off the island. The river was low and slow, but the guide made it interesting. The trip to the river was very long (90 minutes) and the bus had bad air conditioning. Once back on the island, shopping was a joke as prices were 4 to 5 times what they would have been in Belize City for the same items. The Ziplining was $79 for 2 lines when the day before it was $79 for 13 lines. This port is a money grab for NCL and I will not book a cruise that stops here until they correct the money grab problem. Show quoted text

They took a swamp land island, cleared some of it, dumped some fake sand and tried to create a island getaway. Overcrowded, super expensive, and not a lot to do. Smelled like sewage over most of the place. Kayaks, SUPs, and paddle boats were hardly used because too expensive. They sat most of the time we were there. $5 locker rental for an hr while you used those items. I got off ship at noon, walked around for an hour, hopped in the ocean and got back on ship. Beach sucked cause it smelled like sewage and water was really cloudy. Jellyfish warnings everywhere and a kid swimming down from me still managed to get stung (ironically in the separated from the "commoners" private villa beach section). Pool was jam packed and party central. Foods free on the ship, I wasn't about to spend $15 for a hamburger and everything on the island adds on the typical 18% gratuity. They tried to shutdown services on the ship so you'd used the island but I think the masses won because they opened back up most of it. A few people said there was a a ship that would take you to mainland but I was told by cruise there wasn't so not sure about that. I would've way rather headed in and spent time on mainland rather than their island.

Company island built in mangrove swamp; everything fake + costly. I hear we could have gone on a ferry to a real Belize town, would have preferred that.

Norwegian did a pretty good job with this island. There are many excursion options. We were going to go parasailing, but with even the slightest wind you can't go ( i am not disagreeing with it but don't book it too much n advance because it is a 50 50 shot at actually doing it)The beaches are pristine and you can see people ziplining from the lighthouse. They have a few nice stores. They have a few animal exhibits, like toucan, a parrot which wasn't there but they are putting one in the future, and a boa constrictor. They also have a butterfly sanctuary. A lot of nice photo ops all around the island.

By far my favorite port of our cruise!! Super clean, loved the local performers who shared more about Belize’s history and our tour guide on our electric boat ride learned more of current Belize customs and economy. Beach is nice and not too crowded with plenty of chairs for everyone. Pool was beautiful and had some chairs available certainly more room that what was on board. Make sure to have water shoes to walk on the beach as it is crushed shells.

Very pretty island but like others said, the sand is rough, it hurts the feet, and water was a bit murky. Everything here is overpriced and Americanized. Truthfully, I rented a clamshell and took a nap on the beach so no real complaints from me but I don’t consider that I went to Belize.
