The port itself was very nice. We went outside the gates and booked a tour. The tour guide was very knowledgable. He took us all over. It was quite an experience.

FILTHY. Drug ridden. Lots of time. Unless you are part of an excursion, DO NOT LEAVE THE SECURE PORT. I highly recommend staying on the ship. Lots of weed here. 🤢🤢🤢

We didn’t do an excursion, we stayed in the port area shopped and checked out Margaritaville. Shopping is the typical port stores, but still nice. There’s also a little craft market inside the middle square of the port area that was nice for souvenir shopping, however they love to barter the prices and will change them depending on who asks! There also pushy to try and make you buy there items so beware. We also went to Margaritaville to check that out. Port was definitely very clean in the tourist area and kept up. The ship had suggested to stay inside the gates of the port and not go out. We chose to walk a little ways out of them along with others from our ship in a small group. It’s definitely a completely different world if you do chose to leave the gates of the port area, so beware and be cautious!!

We did a dolphin excursion which was awesome. The scenery was pretty but also puts in perspective the poverty. The driving is also a little different and scary lol I think those people used their horns more times within a hour than I have my entire driving experience. Loved the beef and cheese pastries.

We wanted to do a beach excursion, but it was way overpriced. I think it was $30 a person and it was literally just going to a beach and getting free wifi. We asked about a beach our waiter recommended (who was from Jamaica) and she told us that beach was closed. Our waiter later told us he saw people on that beach that day. I'm assuming she lied to us because that beach wasn't part of her excusions.

We loved our tour, tour guide, and trolley driver. They were very accommodating to my handicap needs and went over and above to make me comfortable. They called back to the port and had someone buy my medical suppo at a drug store and had them waiting for me at the end of the tour. They then insisted that they deliver us to our ship by way of a golf cart.
