A lot to do in the port, but everything costs extra. If you venture out of the port on your own be prepared to see a run down place. Hire a taxi to take you to Dunns River Falls.

Jamaica is beautiful, but does not feel safe outside the port area unless you are booked on an excursion. We have done many excursions here in the past, so we stayed in the port area and bought some Blue Mountain Coffee as gifts and then went to Margaritaville and hung out in their pool which is also in the port area.

Did the Dunn's River Falls which everyone has to do once and the beach combo with good food and beautiful beach however the time at the beach was not enough.

This town has no business being a port city. It's basically in a lagoon, and while the immediate port shopping area is pretty nice, if you step outside you're immediately in a pretty inhospitable area that feels pretty wild. Any real decent excursions are in Ocho Rios or Montego Bay, so you spend most of your time driving. Better to pick an itinerary that stops in one of those ports instead.

this was by far the best stop. we did a bike taxi. Our guide's name was" Rory ", he was great, and he told us so much about the island he even gave us a flower we had the time of our lives
