St. Maarten is my favorite place in the world. This was my third year in a row there and it did not disappoint. We took the water taxi to Great Bay Beach and rented jet skis. It was so much fun and wish I could do it over and over.

This island has a very special energy, it draws you in. I will say that the experiences between the tour guides is exceptionally variable. My last visit to the island I had the best guide ever, this time I had the worst (cab 59-he was TERRIBLE). My cruise buddy almost wanted to write off this island until I made him spend some time in town-after that he saw why I love it here so much. We are planning to return.

We went on the Zip Lining at Loratie Farms. It was a great excursion but had more rope courses than zipping. The beaches here are amazing. Don't fall for the guys on the beach "renting" beach chairs. They are free to use but you can tip the guys for helping you find a seat.

We had a Kayaking excursion, well the bus dropped us off at the wrong location, we were abandoned on top of a mountain. I did walk a path I saw and found out that it was a hiking trail. Omg the views I saw were Beautiful, I headed back to the other patrons and we joked a lot about being stranded. It was really nice joking around and meeting the other people. Finally the bus came back after some in our group phoned the ship and got a taxi. Anyway they brought us to the correct place and we had a great Experience. Only 3 people let this mishap ruin it for them, the rest of us just enjoyed the time we got to know each other. They did give us back 20 percent of the cost, which I didn’t even want as it really made it more fun.

What a fun island!! So much going on. I would like to return and spend at least a week there. We did the 40 mile bike ride excursion and it's not for everyone. I LOVED it but it wasn't easy. The island is full of hills and it was tough but so rewarding.

We went on our own by taxi to Maho Beach and the Sunset Bar to sit in the sun and swim in the water and drink frozen beverages until commercial jetliners landed right over our heads. It was hilarious. Four ships were in port and I think everybody got off and went to Maho. Don't miss it. Do stay out of the way of the planes that are taking off because they will blast sand all over you. Sunset Beach had some delicious smelling chicken. It almost made me want to eat meat.

This place was way cleaner than St Thomas. We did the sea trek excursion here where you put on a diving helmet and walk along the bottom of the ocean without getting your hair wet. Scuba divers collect interesting sea life for you and you get to hold it. Also have sunken ships and stuff to look at. Make sure you can pop your ears before you go. One girl couldn't and she wasn't able to descend all the way to the bottom. It was my favorite part of the cruise and now I want to go get scuba certified.

I love this port. It was hit hard by the hurricane, and they are still rebuilding. I bought some jelwery from Royal Caribbean jewelry, enjoyed the beach, and took a taxi tour around the entire island to finish up the day. We had a driver named Josiene, who was awesome.
