Awesome place so sad that the island was devastated by the storm. Shopping was just ok they really don't like to haggle with the prices. No deals to be had.

I went to Orient Beach in a taxi (I waited for others who wanted to join so the fare would be cheaper). I highly recommend buying a set of beach chairs with an umbrella. It was worth the thirty dollars. The most beautiful water I've ever seen in my life!

We did an excursion outside of Royal Caribbean. We booked our excursion through Expedia.com. We did the ziplining and tubing excursion through Rainforest Adventure. As soon as you get off the ship walk straight toward the transportation center and they will take you about 15 minutes away from the port. The staff at Rainforest Adventure were very nice. I would highly recommend this excursion.

I would suggest hiring a driver and get a tour of the entire island. We had a great trip and learned much of their people , culture, economics and even held frightening looking sea life as well as fed iguanas and watched airplanes land and depart from a local beach. Also ate in a café with local faire--interesting and delicious!

Did an island tour here (French and Dutch). Guide was great. Yes still a lot of destruction it will take years to get it back. Instead of orient beach which is wiped out he took us to a local area to feed some iguanas. That was awesome. Tour was 25$ ea. Well worth it

I have another question do you need to carry your passport on you when getting on and off the ship while it’s in Oort, this goes for all ports? Thank you in advance🛳🍾🌴

On my cruise port, I stopped at sint maarten and rode the ATV's and it was so much fun. I would recommend that you try this excursion. They take you on and off roads and make a few stops such as the beach. We came back a little late but the cruise waited for us because we bought the excursion through the cruise line. This is a safe excursion if you listen to the instructor and follow directions.

Always wonderful St Maarten and beautiful Maho Beach. Nice weather and few airplane spottings with some Chips and beer will always make your day. According to the taxi driver the big planes (747) are not flying anymore to St Maarten.

There was 8 of us in our group. We took a taxi to Maho Beach and settled in at the Sunset Bar to watch the planes. Taxi was $16 per couple and they made arrangements to pick us up at a designated time. Buckets of ice cold beer and a great location to watch the planes come in over the beach. Our next stop was Blue Bitch Beach Bar $12 per couple from Maho Beach. Again ice cold buckets of beer, great beach and great location with shops nearby. Walked to ferry which took us back to the port area for $4 per person. There is still extensive hurricane damage but recovery is well underway.

Used a local taxi. The driver took us all over the place. Still not completely recovered from the hurricane. Again a lovely island with nice people. Would visit again.
