Island still dealing w hurricane recovery. Everyone wants to give you deal on everything. Just relax and find a great beach location that offers WiFi/buckets of beer and food. Plenty of them to choose from just after the water taxi from port. Great day to relax, see a beautiful island and not get to inundated by people that bother you for taxi/tours/ selling items.

Our favourite island. Beautiful views from the boardwalk looking over the harbour. The local beach is clean and the bar staff come to your sun lounger to take your order so you don't even have to get up!

Our experience was limited to the pier itself and a bus ride to Maho beach. It's very clear the island is dependent on tourism, but it is still very beautiful with plenty of this to do.

We booked the Big 3: Flying Dutchman, Sentry Hill zipline, and schooner tube ride, through Rainforest Adventure's website when it was on sale and got a great deal. We joined a small group through each part, with 2 rounds on the schooner tube, 4 total sentry hill (canopy tour) ziplines, before finalizing the excursion on the Flying Dutchman. It was awesome!! They said summer was low season, so there really weren't any lines like I suppose it could be when there are more ships in port. There's a bar at the top of the mountain and free wifi. The locals were friendly on port.

St Marteen was very nice place I love the fact of the French and Dutch sides, but for us wasn’t a wonderful day, we took the water taxi to the town and was awful, I lost count how many people asked us to get a. Hair at the beach was very uncomfortable. Weather was bad, we got winds and rain , in the afternoon we did a excursion called Golden eagle the crew was so nice , they do everything for you to have fun. We snorkel and spent time at the beach . I hope we will be back sometime and learn more about this island.

Rented a car, drove around, found a nice quiet beach with less than two dozen people and enjoyed it!

Sad to see the devastation but our tour guide assured us the residents there are strong and will rebuild their lives with pride. Thank you "Mailman"!

A must is the airport beach. Quite an adventure to see the landing gear up close and personal.

Even though we did see a lot of destruction from the hurricane, our taxi tour of the island was interesting and enjoyable. Shopping was great.

Typical cruise port in that one must bypass taxi and shuttle drivers offering a “ride into town”. One of them even said that it was a 20 minute walk. Actually, even though we stopped at a vendor to purchase cold drinks along the way, the walk was 10 minutes. Once in the beachfront town, there were many vendors offering 2 beach chairs, an umbrella, and 5 soft drinks or 2 alcoholic drinks for under $50 TOTAL. The message? While it may provide some security for one to take an official excursion, a beach experience for 2 can be had for a total of $20 per couple. No need to spend $50 each to sit in the sand and watch the waves.
