We been here before. I don’t like the beach here either. Very soft sand in the water. Hard to get in and out. Shopping and restaurants very easy to get to. We too the water taxi back for $4.

You have many places to stop and get a drink along the boardwalk. Our favorite is a little place about half way down called Cornies Beach Bar. We have been going there for 10 years and if Cornie is there he always remembers us.

This was a beautiful port!! We had such a wonderful day here. We took a taxi with fellow cruisers to Orient Beach. Yes this beach had many vendors selling up and down the beach all day but they were nice if you weren’t interested and didn’t pester you. Also from what I learned the French part is clothing optional. Found this one out the hard way! At first we were shocked then it didn’t bother us. We had a great beach day there!

My absolute favorite caribbean place. I loved spending the whole day at Maho beach. You can get the fancy tours that they offer, I preferred going cheap. we got the water taxi to downtown and there we walked to back street and got a 2$ bus to maho beach. Watching the airplanes was awesome, there was also a guy there with a speaker telling when the planes and which planes would arrive. Make sure you stand behind the taking off jets holding to the fence, this is a once in a lifetime experience, trust me. The beach is also great, no chairs or anything fancy. Get the same bus back and the water taxi is round trip.

Don't go far - lots of people had traffic issues. We took the water taxi ($7 per person) across the water from cruise port and got two chairs, umbrella, and five beers for $20. Spend whole day in beautiful water and sun. Didn't go exploring - treated day like a beach day. We went to the most distant set of beach umbrellas and even with three ships in port, not crowed. If you don't do the water taxi to the beach, then do an excursion. This is NOT the port to go rouge on! The country is recovering and people who went solo, had issues with transportation and accurate information.

We had the best time with Johnny’s ATV and Scooter rental. Our group of 4 had a private tour around the island with johnny. We hit all the major highlights including Maho Beach, Dutch and French capitals, orient beach, and so much more.
