Very neat island! We did a tour where we were able to explore both the French and Dutch sides of the island. Great Bay Beach is a short walk or cab ride. Lots of stores and restaurants to choose from. Amsterdam Cheese and Liquor is a neat store close to port..great for souvenir shopping.

Having just been here last year, I was saddened by the devastation to the island. The people are still wonderful and so resilient. Heard alot of their stories and it made the trip a little bittersweet, but they really need the tourism to return and they are working very hard to get back to the new normal

This port was sadly affected by the hurricanes, but is rebuilding. There is still plenty of shopping and places to eat or get drinks. Beautiful beaches and clear water.

St Martin is beautiful. You cannot go wrong with whatever you pick whether it be shopping, or going to the beach. I choose a catamaran, which was relaxing and the best part was when the captain stopped the boat at the end of the famous airport runway, so we could watch an airplane land directly above us.

We did not do an excursion, however, we did walk from the ship to Great Bay Beach in Philipsburg and rented a few beach chairs and proceeded to just relax and enjoy soaking in some sun and hanging out in the water. The beach and water were amazing and we had great weather. We met some cool people from the ship while visiting a local establishment and overall had a great day and great experience. St. Maarten is one of my favorite islands for these reasons!

It was HOT! Again, lots of shops in port. Go to the chocolate shop...so good! We had an excursion to Maho Beach, but woke up not wanting to spend 5 hours in the sun. We noticed shuttles for $7...so if you are interested, do not book through RCI! We wasted $88 ($44 ea) by canceling, when we could have played it by ear and jumped on the shuttle for significantly less. Shuttles to other beaches and water taxis also available.

Having been here before, we tried something new. We took a non-Carnival excursion to Topper's Rhum Distillery, followed by lunch at Topper's Restaurant, followed by a 1.5 hour visit to Maho Beach. Kristy gave us the tour at Topper's, which was really interesting. We were given several samples of rum and a Rum-Punch with our tour. We purchased a bottle of rum to bring home and got a recipe for a delicious rum cake. Our lunch at Topper's was very good and the owners were present and taking part of their business. I was terrified when we were being dropped off at Maho Beach, not having realized that it's a tiny beach with far too many people. It was packed like a can of sardines. Our tour guide volunteered to take us somewhere less crowded, but we decided we'd make the best of Maho. I'm glad that I did. It was a neat experience to watch the planes come and go. I stayed far out in the very calm, tranquil blue-green waters four our 1.5 hours there, while my partner purchased a $10 chair on the crowded beach. We didn't feel safe leaving our valuables unattended, so I stayed in the water while he stayed on the beach. We did not visit the two bars that were right there, but they had great music, drinking contests and looked like loads of fun. We also stayed on the side of the beach that was unaffected by plane activity, but were able to watch those that wanted to be in the jet-stream, as they were pummeled with sand and jet fumes and often blown back a few steps. I would visit again!
