ST. MAARTENS IS ONE OF THE MOST PICTURESQUE. WE LIKE TO STOP AT A CAFE AND HAVE SOME LUNCH WITH A COUPLE OF THEIR SPECIALTY DRINKS OVERLOOKING THE WATER. JUST MAGNIFICIENT. WE ALSO ALWAYS STOP AT THE CATHOLIC CHURCH TO SAY A PRAYER AND LIGHT A CANDLE. IT MAKES US FEEL BETTER. THE SHOPS THERE ARE ALSO VERY NICE AND FULLL OF SOUVENIRS FOR US TO SPEND OUR MONEY.

I would like to go back in a year to see how much progress has been made since the hurricane. The island is beautiful. The tour we took was a double decker bus tour. It was nice.

Being able to sit on the beach for the day was a wonderful experience. NuLove Restaurant offered a great value for drinks, chairs and umbrellas for the day. Thank you Lion for the great deal!!!

2nd time at this port was in 2013 and was just as amazing as the 1st time. We hung out at Blue Bitch Bar (best bar in port) and had a beach day near the port! You just can't beat St Marteen!!!

The Flying Dutchman was amazing! I was so scared I was trembling when they opened the gates, but seconds in -it was the most magical experience ever! Totally worth it! We went to Maho beach afterward to watch the planes. The beach was definitely smaller then I had expected and tourists littered everywhere which wasn't cool, but at no fault of the island or islanders themselves. The planes were neat to see, but I'll probably go somewhere else next time. The cab driver gave us some info on the destruction after the hurricanes and on the hotels re-opening next year. The destruction was still quite evident especially in the surrounding shipyards. The community was working all around to get things back together. On another note, if you get a chance try the guavaberry drink at the pier. It is AMAZING! They had free samples, but it was so good I needed my own.

I came down with a bad cold the day before so we had to cancel our excursion (I didn’t want to get anyone else sick). We walked around the port looking for cold medicine and took the the water taxi and stopped by the pharmacy. Even though it wasn’t what we planned I still had a nice time. It was our second time at St Maarten and we go to see it in a new light. Last time (Dec 2015) it was rainy and cloudy, this time it was really sunny. I never knew that the water was so beautiful there. It looked like a different beach. We did some shopping and stopped for some gelato before we headed back to the water taxi. It was a nice easygoing day.

St. Maarten we did the Great Bay Beach excursion. That was a nice beach the water taxi takes you over and you get free wifi and chairs with umbrella included. You can take the water taxi all day with this one. We also walked around the town and went to the Yoda guy museum. If your a Starwars fan this is a must. Nick Maley was there on the day we visited and it was neat to meet him and get his autograph.
