One of the most beautiful places I have been. Don't do an excursion. Just take a water taxi (like $7 a person) over to the beach and just chill. Grab some Caribbean Jerk chicken and a drink and enjoy the views.

We loves to shop here. They have the shopping right when you get off the boat it was amazing. The people there were very friendly and made us feel like we belonged to their island.

Another great time at St. Maarten. We got great weather. We walked from the ship to Great Bay Beach in Philipsburg. We rented some chairs and an umbrella and spent a majority of the time relaxing on the beach or in the water. We ate lunch at a place called the Oualichi Bar & Restaurant. Good food and service. We did not make it out to Maho Beach or do an excursion, but are considering it for next time. There is still evidence of the hurricane from 2017 but the area continues to show it's coming back. Always enjoy my time in St. Maarten, one of my favorite islands!

Oh my gosh!! Those of you who have not yet experienced St Maarten are in for a treat, if you like sailing. We went on the yacht race in 2016, before the hurricane in 2017. Last year, 2018, rebuilding was underway, but not yet reopened. But now, the 12 meter challenge is ready to race again. We can hardly wait to experience the yacht race challenge again on our 2019 cruise. It’s just like you’re in the America’s Cup race! In 2016, two yachts were used in our race. The “Stars and Stripes 87”, the very yacht that won the America’s Cup and “Canada II”. We boarded the yachts and everyone was given a job to do. Our captain would direct us and it was up to us to follow thru with his commands. I was the time keeper. I didn’t know a time keeper was necessary. Anyway, my husband and I were assigned to the Canada II and in our race, we beat the Stars and Stripes. It was truly the highlight of our cruise! Like I said, we are so very excited to race again!

We booked and went to Kim Sha Beach through RCCL and with the same company we booked last time for our trip to Orient Bay Beach. The tour company had to change locations due to the hurricane damage to Orient Bay Beach. Kim Sha Beach is a very small beach as compared to Orient Bay Beach. Our guide was very knowledgeable...She pointed out and explained the Hurricane damage. The chairs were provided but it was charged $4.00 for an umbrella. The water was clear, warm and beautiful...The included lunch was an added bonus! The provided lunch was awesome and better than we had last time at Orient Beach. It was happy hour most of the day while we were there...Two for one beers. We paid for one bucket and got the second for free. Awesome tour and we highly recommend.

The hurricane devastation is still quite pronounced but they need our dollars to help them

This port was beautiful! There were still a couple shops closed up but for the most part everything was fixed up and very well done. We did the accessible island tour and it was a lot of fun. The staff were very friendly and also very knowledgeable. We received information on the history of the island and learned some other fun facts.
