Went on tour. A man that spoke English. sold us the tour and said he was going to be our guide. he took us to the large van and two guys got in the spoke no English except the word "money" . so drove around the island but learned nothing. Very expensive.

Motor coach was comfortable. Scenery and stops were nice. The tour guide (Discover Martinique) was hard to understand.

Did the 4x4 excursion and it was great! The suvs only comfortable fit 3 passengers and they had 4. Best rum tour included

We booked the Panoramic Tour of Martinique which departed at 8:15 am.  The tour was scheduled to last for 3 hours, and 45 minutes.  In actuality, even though the boat docked on time, we did not receive clearance to go ashore until around 8:25 am.  By the time the bus left the parking lot, it was a little after 9 pm.  We did return around 12:35 pm, so even though we had a late start, we were only about 20 minutes late.  Both my wife and I enjoyed this tour.  There were three stops: the church of Balata on a hill overlooking Fort De France, the town of St. Pierre, and a scenic overlook of the bay and Mt. Pelée as we left St. Pierre.  All three were good scenic stops.  We enjoyed seeing some of the havoc that the 1902 eruption of Mt. Pelée caused to St. Pierre.  The drives in between were also scenic and enjoyable.  We felt that we had seen a unique part of Martinique’s history and we enjoyed the views of the coast.

Got off to shop. No excursion as I’ve previously seen what I wanted.

I lived this port! The French/European influence was very intriguing! I'm planning to visit it for vacation in the near future. I ventured beyond the tourist sections and found the island peaceful and modern. Euro was the currency so get some if you plan to shop there.

This island is very built up and commercialized. We did the Old Traditions of Martinique. It was just okay. We had a bus tour for an hour or so and visited a museum of belle'. At the museum they do about an hour and a half of traditional dancing. You get up and dance too. Then they provide rum punch and a piece of local fish. You then go by bus to a local rum distillery. This was the best part! Rum tasting! But overall I felt our tour guide was just okay and because they only speak French her translations were not very good.

We chose not to do an excursion and instead explore the downtown area of Martinique. It was a waist of time. The town was filthy and the shops were not very good.

This island should never be a port of call. If you don't have Euros, forget about seeing any of the museums.
