Very clean and modern for a Caribbean island. Very much enjoyed walking around and eventually found a nice French sushi restaurant for a bite to eat. Food and service were very good!

Probably our favorite stop. Took the ferry to a local beach, absolutely wonderful!

This was the best Island of all that we visited. The first taxi we encountered off the ship wanted $250 for a 2-hour tour. If you're looking for an Island tour walk to the end of the tents. We paid $45 each for a 4-hour tour in a new Mercedes van. Our driver and tour guide were excellent.

The little beach area near the ship if fantastic. Warm water and warm welcome from many of the locals that frequent the beach for morning aerobics class.

Our island excursion was on a modern bus with a/c and bottled water for the guests. Went to see Sacred Heart church on the hill, beautiful view, a huge botanical garden, and the Clemon estate and rum factory. Very scenic drive with many sugar cane and banana fields.

This is a French island. Take Euros if you want to buy anything or use credit card.

I had been so looking forward to this port. My research had shown it to be safe and easily walkable so I did a self-tour. Although I knew that the local currency was the Euro, I had read that many vendors accept dollars - that was absolutely not the experience that I (and others I spoke to on the ship) had. Although a number of shops had signage in English, the acceptance of the dollar was very limited - and often done reluctantly. Even the Catholic Cathedral insisted on Euro payment to light a candle!! I found the locals to be particularly unfriendly too. It’s sad because it was a pretty port and within a 5 minute from the ship. But if they don’t treat tourists right, then they won’t have a tourist trade. It’s the only island on this itinerary to which I would not want to return.

I had read that the people of this island were not friendly and we found that to be far from the truth. We took a ferry over to Trois Ilet and walked around all the shops and everyone was very friendly. The kids were out of school the day we visited so there we a lot of teenagers running around but it was no big deal. Martinique was a beautiful island. Once we returned from the other part of the island we walked around the city around the port for a bit and then returned to the ship. Great day!
