Bonaire, Netherlands Special Municipality Port Reviews

Enjoyed this port. Did an excursion into the island where we saw wild flamingos, donkeys, iguanas, and then had beach time in a beautiful calm cove. Tour guide was a very nice local that was very proud of her island.

Also the port is very minimal no duty free a hand full of shops and beaches are on the other side of the island transportation is cheap 5 p/p each way about 15 ride.

Great nice shopping in port but you take your life in your own hands due to local traffic. LOL

Lots of interesting facts and sights . Few swimmable beaches , but many snorkeling sites . Jibe city beach was very shallow but clear . Food was good . Happy we rented a car and toured on our own

We did the UniMogg tour. It goes off road and is quite bumpy, but our driver/guide, Chris, was very informative, stopping along the way to describe things, and inform us about plant life and other aspects of the island. The beach stop was not much of a stop. We were there about 15 minutes and it was pretty crowded. We had enough time to just basically walk into the water, stand there a bit and then get out before we had to leave. If you are looking for a beach break, this would not be the tour to take.

Only got to see half this island. For the first time in 10 cruises we used an outside tour company because the Carnival tour was sold out. NEVER again. We had issues meeting up with the first tour guide (like we didn't) so we found another local vendor. That driver became sick and they had to cut the tour short. However what we did see was good and the guide was very knowledgeable.

We did and three hour bus trip all over the island. It was nice to see the area, but three hours was way too long! We weren’t told to bring a snack and it started out 10 o’clock. We didn’t get back till around 1:20 PM. It was just too long of a drawn out affair. I would never do that again.
