Basseterre, St. Kitts Port Q&A

4.4
Are there any public beaches near the cruise port? Trying to cut down on excursion expenses on the cruise and would love to explore without the need for a tour or paid excursion. Thanks in advance!

Not within walking distance, but there are loads of taxi waiting to take you to any beach you choose. We usually go down to Cockleshell Bay, which last time was $10pp each way. After the cruise excursion left we had whole beach to ourself. Frigate bay is also very popular and closer to port.

Frigate Bay is the closest, located about 10 minutes from the cruise port. This section of the island is very narrow, allowing you to actually walk across the island from South Frigate Bay to North Frigate Bay.

Be careful of the monkey people. they are everywhere with baby monkeys trying to lure u into holding 1 then asking for money. they are all in your personal space.

St Kitts is a great place for shopping as well right at the port.
