If you do not book an excursion there is nothing to see and the taxi's were extremely expensive so we returned to the boat within 1/2 hour.

The weather was cool, overcast and windy, which cut down on our beach time. A cab ride from the ship to Port Lucayan (shopping) and the Sheraton and Westin (beach) in Freeport was $4 per person and the cab driver arranged a time to meet and return us to the ship. There is a Greek diner in the shopping area called Zorbas that features authentic Bahamian food. Its very tasty and friends of ours that live in Freeport took us there, as its a place the locals enjoy. Returning to the ship, the passengers in the cab in front of us got in a fist fight! Traffic stopped and everyone (men, women and children) came flying out of the van, some of them covered in blood. The police arrived shortly after and our ships departure was delayed because some of your fellow guests were involved in an incident. My guess is they didnt get back on the ship, but were enjoying some extended Bahamian hospitality!
