since they used tenders we had to wait over 2 hours for our turn--This was not the ships first visit to this port and they should have had more tenders available as this was not their first visit to the port

Highly recommend the Lobstering and Lighthouse Cruise to see the captain check on the 'catch' in their own lobster traps. Great lighthouses, too!

We walked around and did some shopping. There was little to do unless one took an excursion.

No excursion...just walked around, mainly on the main street and the Bixby Bean to Bar Chocolate store.

I did not plan an excursion. My sisters ended up staying on the ship. I took the tender into port. I was able to walk to a chocolate factory to learn about the making of chocolate. Then I walked to several museums including the Farnsworth Museum and the Lighthouse Museum and finally the Puffin Research Center. I enjoyed all of these activities. Both museums were about $15 each and well worth it. I was on one of the first tenders in the morning and I was able to get back on ship early in the afternoon and before the buffet was closed so I ate lunch back on board. I had a great day in this port.

Very poor tendering experience

Cute little town with lots of great little shops. Be sure to check out the Farnsworth Museum and the Puffin Project.
