Halifax was by far my favorite port! My family and I took the “Hop On, Hop Off” bus around the city, and it was the best decision that we had ever made! We got to see the Maritime Museum (which has a lot of info on the Titanic btw), the Public Gardens, the Titanic Cemetery, and a lot more! We even stopped at Tim Horton’s to grab a quick bite (something that we don’t have in NC) while we were shopping at one of the stops off the bus. Altogether, this port deserves 5 stars, and Halifax was a great city to visit!

Halifax was very beautiful. We took a tour which included a HOHO bus and then board another bus to Peggy's Cove. We also walked to the Maritime Museum which included Titanicc artifacts. Peggy's Cove was definitely worth the one hour drive. We ate a lobster roll at the restaurant there and it was excellent.

We went to Peggy’s cove and toured the graveyard of the Titanic victims. Peggy’s cove was beautiful, a bit crowded and couldn’t get a picture without someone in it but the view of the lighthouse and rocks at sunset was really pretty.

The city of Halifax is a special friend to the city of Boston. Each year they give us a big Christmas tree as a token of friendship for the aid that Boston provided to them in their hour of need following the great explosion in 1917. In a tour that was organized by one of our ship-mates from the roll call, we visited a few of the sites associated with this tragedy and saw historic houses, monuments and a smashed ship’s propeller that was miles from the harbor. We visited the Titanic graveyard where many victims of that disaster were interred. From there we went off to tour a maple syrup factory and shop filled with sweets, got lunch at Ryer’s Lobster Pound where we met a rainbow of different (living) lobsters, red, orange, yellow, blue and green. I loved that! Peggy’s Cove was gorgeous and I took a bunch of great photos for many, many paintings.
