Wet and raining

We took a motor coach from the ship to Alyeska so Whittier was a no-show and Anchorage was a 2-hour lunch stop. That said, we were able to go to the new Anchorage Museum and recommend it highly. There is an area dedicated to the various indigenous peoples that was a collaborative effort with the Smithsonian Institution. Superb! Our cruise on Portage Lake was cancelled and replaced by an extra hour in the Wildlife Conservation Center. I question the choices and, of course, regret that the Portage Lake cruise had to be canceled. A longer time in Anchorage or even an earlier arrival at Alyeska would have been preferable IMHO.

Small, little to see. Good for embarkation

It was cold and rainy and we had to go outside at several points getting our feet wet. We ended up on a 5 hour train ride with wet feet!

Weather was terrible with wind and sleet. It looked pretty small but on a good weather day, I'm sure it is beautiful.

Pretty port. We took the shuttle bus to Anchorage. Our driver gave us a play by play as we drove. Not really an excursion, but a nice finish to an awesome cruise.

Pickup in Whittier was not very efficient.
