I had never heard of this town before coming here. It's a cute small Canadian town with some hiking trails we took advantage of. I also went to a bar and got some Canadian beer. Most of the ship, including ourselves, walked to the local Walmart to buy some of the Canadian goods you can't get in the US. We were the only ship docked that day, so the town didn't feel too crowded. Note we did not do a shore excursion here.

We chose the Butze Trail hike excursion. This was not much of a hike at all. We only went about a mile in to a scenic overlook and turned around to go back. I was really hoping for a real hike. The area was so beautiful and the weather was just perfect so I wanted to stay all day. The tour guide, Jonathan, pointed out many plants and told us a bit about the area’s history and significance but there isn’t really a whole lot to it. We had a small group (just 5 on the tour and the guide) but one couple was elderly and asthmatic so that really slowed us down.

It’s ok. Excursions were too expensive and not appealing. Walmart was probably the biggest attraction. It’s a fine port just not much we wanted to do. It was a little disappointing, especially following the spectacular beauty and magnificence of Alaska.

Nothing to do in this port - I went on a hiking tour, checked Starbucks for their collector mug (didn't have any), and went back to the ship. Also, we were delayed about two hours because one of the workers ran away.

Prince Rupert Sept 20 2023: Walked around, went to Walmart. Port was ok, it was pretty but not much to do.

It was my least favorite port and the people were not particularly pleasant. It was just okay. One of the highlights that we were told was Walmart and Safeways and that was part of a tram ride that was going to cost us $70 per person. We looked at the small shops at the pier and went back to the ship. I would not go there again.
