One more time…. Not enough time to enjoy it

We love what has been done by the operators of this port. The restaurants, gondolas, zip-line, all of it. Kudos to them!

Did another whale watching here it was canceled and then there was five of us who showed up just in case ….they called a guy with a small boat and he took us out. We played with killer whales for over an hour. It was the best day ever.

2 of my Granddaughters took an excursion hike. They enjoyed the absolute quiet.

This was my favorite port. Absolutely no usual port stores, it's owned and operated by the native Tlingit people. All proceeds support the village of Hoonah. We had our first ood sightings of bald eagles here and while walking the trail, saw an approximate 2000 lb eagles nest. We then walked into Hoonah and saw another bald eagle sitting at the waters edge.. I think it was here as well that we saw a whale right next to the ship. Looked down and there it was.

Nice little town. We didn't do any excursion but we went out to walk on the beach.

We absolutely LOVE Hoonah. We booked another whale watching tour. This time we booked it ourselves. Glacier Wind Charters, a family owned and operated. Captain Shawn his wife Teresa and their son Captain Casey operate a custom built whale watching vessel the "Apogee". What an amazing time with this family and boy did we see whales. Icy Strait Point is a hive of activity. The gondolas are a great way to see some awesome wildlife.

Clean port! Excellent shops! Beautiful views. We went to the top of the mountain on the gondola and did a short hike!
