Took gondola to top. Not worthwhile due to fog and raw rainy weather no views. Little town to walk with museum. Took excursion thru town of Hoonah. Guide was a nice guy..but once we reached our destination to a park area 3 bridge platform areas to hopefully view distance 🐻 bears other wildlife. We were held back due to "possible" bear sight too close to 3rd Bridge, so a guide went to see. Which is fine, yet Took over 20min to return ( mind you, we are all standing in rain). Then we moved to 2nd Bridge for guy to leave again. 20 minutes . All I'm rain. Terrible. Wish they just canceled 😞 instead. Just keep in mind the weather I'd cancel if you are headed to this area.

Rode trams up the mountain. Walked a trail. Viking pointed us on our way.

If you want to do the Zip Line, book on the ship! Nice tourist stop with scenery to enjoy.

Best excursion ever was the Alaska Whale and drone adventure with Josh. Phenomenal day phenomenal view and what an exciting way to be able to see the wildlife.

No Excursion - This was okay!!! The prices to do things were outrageous ($200 to zipline), but it was clean and the staff were friendly. This is a great money-maker for the indigenous people... and the cruise companies!

It was one of our coldest stops (they were all quite chilly) and we did the Whale Watching and Seafood Feast excursion. We did absolutely see whales (mostly humps and tails). Boat staff was very good. We also got to view a sea otter colony as well as some sea lions on a buoy. We got to the seafood feast and it was a southern style crab boil with crab, sausage, potatoes, corn, etc. We also got to grill marshmallows to make smores. It was so cold though, that the drawn butter for the crab solidified pretty quickly. (I could see my breath here!) But all in all it was very good food and the hosts were great. I would make a suggestion that a whale watching boat tour could be done in TWO HOURS rather than three. This is the second whale watching tour I have been on which was three hours and both times I was very satisfied with the whale watching at the two hour mark and ready to get back.

This was a port that was substituted for Skagway. We walked to Hoonah and had mini donuts. It would be nice if there were more shuttles back to Icy Strait Point from Hoonah. There appeared to only be one. And it took a while to get the shuttle back.

Nice little port. I got a pocket knife I named Handy. We went on a bear watching excursion and got to see a few Grizzlies. Very cool. Other parts of my family went whale watching and saw a bear on the shore from the water. When we were driving back to the ship we drove past a spot near the water that I swear I saw in a dream before. That was my first time there which was crazy.
