Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska Port Reviews

Since I was in a scooter, I could disembark, but I could only visit the cruise line souvenier and excursion building. I could not got into town on my scooter so--pointless port for me.

Nothing really to do at this post, the excursion was priced more on the ship!

Time in port was too short. Only had time for an excursion but did not have time to see the town

Did the gondola and tram excursion. The port is well-layed out. We enjoyed the shops and museum area of the old cannery, the walk along the shore to get there, incredible gondola rides and views. Lunch at the Crab Shack was really good, though pricey.

Best stop I’ve ever been to. Highly recommend whale watching here.

Disappointed this was substituted when they canceled Skagway. Not much to do unless you wanted to whale watch which we already had done so the port didn’t offer much

Not much to do there. We did not do an excursion so we were on our own so foggy you couldn’t see anything.

We did a hike and then enjoyed a walk into town.

I had no expectations as I knew nothing about Icy Strait Point. The morning was super foggy so I thought our day would be ruined. Boy, I couldn't have been more wrong! This was my favorite port of all of them! Get the pass for the gondolas to the top! The views are breathtaking and it was bright and sunny up there despite the thick fog. You can see Glacier Bay National Park as well as the Juneau icefields from up there!

Hiked our butts off, great tram and book the zip line ahead. It sells out.
