We were disappointed that our port was changed from Skagway (one of the ship terminals was damaged in mud slides in 2022) to Icy Strait Point. We did a halibut fishing tour with Wooshkeetaan Tours that I highly recommend!

I thought this port was going to be somewhat dull, but it was one of the better ones! Got to get out and walk, and the gondola was fun!

Hoonah is a very small town that is about a 30 minute walk from the cruise port. If you want to have a nice walk it is great, but the town is nothing. The Smokehouse Restaraunt is great for fish and chips

There was not much to see there. We did not want to do the zip line and some people that did it said they really couldn't see anything on the zip line. Wish we would have gone to Sitka instead.

Took the tram up to the top and it was too cloudy for pictures. A short hike in the woods and back to the ship. Not a lot to do other than shop expensive tourist junk.

The ship terminal is very new, modern, clean and has a free zip line to a viewing area and another that you pay for the world’s longest zip line. My husband did that part and LOVED it. We also walked to the town of Hoonah. Very depressing little town where it looks like all 600 of the residents live below the poverty line. Houses were stacked with trash and junk in their yards and looked to be falling apart. There are two gift shops (and I use that term loosely), a nice, new brewery, and not much else to see.
