Saw the glacier from 5-10 miles or so away. Did not meet expectation. The whole reason for the trip was missed.

We actually got close, it was great

Took the excursion on boat up to within 1/2 mile of the glacier. What a day. Got to see the glacier calve at least 10 times.

due to so many folks getting sick or dying at the beginning of the cruise the Glacier experience was abridged

Just when we were amazed by Glacier Bay... then comes Hubbard. Incredible Beauty! I love the way they rotated the ship 360 degrees in both Glacier Bay and Hubbard so that we could see the entire view from our balcony stateroom.

Needed to have spent more time - ship was in and out in a flash. Glacier Bay was better. We needed more time at glacier.

Absolutely stunning, highlight of our entire cruise , captain got us within half a mile to the glacier. We witnessed some calving , that was impressive

Up close and personal! Other boats were much farther out likely because of their size. You know those mega floating city blocks!

Your experience will vary based on weather and ice conditions which impact how close the ship can get and your visibility. We did back to back cruises. One was exceptional for both weather and water conditions. The next week not as good but still exciting and amazing.

pretty cool to get close to the glacier in the smaller boat
