Would have like to gotten closer to the glacier...we were going in as Norwegian Sun was coming out. They had hit a growler "floating ice" and had to head to Seattle for repairs. The excursion was on an aluminum boat which we were glad we didn't do as the ice field didn't allow them to get very close. Later in the year is a good time to go as the wind blows the ice away from the glacier and cruise ship can get closer.

We did an excursion that took us up close to the glacier and also up close to some seals hanging out on a rock. I got some great shots of the glacier calving!

The weather cooperated. The captain was able to get us SO close it was amazing. We actually got as close as the overpriced smaller boat that took people up close. Some claving, but it was around a bend so we got to see the water splash but not the actual calving. This was truly the high point.

DEF do the small ship excursion that gets you close to the glacier....yes, expensive, but one of the highlights of the cruise

Did not do the glacier excursion, was not sunny our day at the glacier, but did see it quite well.

Captain Pierre was able to do two complete 360-degree ship turns getting unusually close to the Glacier as there were no or manageable risk of floating icebergs!! This was another TOP Cruise Experience!! Excellent! Incredible!!
