4 Night Bahamas
Carnival Sensation
Sail date: February 07, 2016
This was a wonderful time. There are so many activities/entertainment to do you will never be bored. We took our 4 kids (age 12+) Make sure your kids register with the age appropriate camps offered. Beings ours were older, they were allowed to stay past 10pm at no extra charge. This is perfect as some of the entertainment goes much later than this. The kids are able to come and go as they please, but they stick together and have a great time. We found the group, with their mentor at midnight in the 24 hour diner, Just relaxing. (1 am is camp closing time).
The ship was easy to maneuver around, (as some of the entertainment may be different levels from each other in consecutive times). No problems with that.
I have been told in the past Carnival is more of a 'party ship' line. I now don't know if it was meant that they have more drinkers or 'party activities like the mardi gra or Caribbean dance night. The alcohol runs aplenty, but I didn't notice any out of sort behavior. It is all what you want to attend. Like I stated, my kids were out until 1 or 2 am, not problems with anyone.
The only qualm I had was to easily get to The Plaza room, where we spent time every night for entertainment, you walk through the 'Boulevard' (which consist of casino area, bar, and so to speak a street performer-which were very good each time we passed) But with that you also walked amongst people dancing (no prob) but this is where the smokers hung out. So now your hair & clothes smell of smoke. The other cruises I have been on, the smoke was allowed in a certain area where thru traffic wasn't affected.
The ship all in all was wonderful and kid friendly. Would for sure go again.
can do the small market right off the ship, but not walking distance to anything else. kind of a pain that you have to taxi off
easy to get around, didn't do any activities here
While Nassau is not why we chose this cruise, you can walk easily to see beaches, shopping. The morning we ported here, they did an over intercom warning the US Embassy warned travelers of their safety here. The crime rate had risen. We didn't encounter any issues while walking. But we didn't do any excursions. Thankfully, is was so windy, in hind sight found out many things were cancelled or just not worth the money due to the high waves of the ocean.

Bring a lanyard. Especially for the kids. This is a must. Pockets are not on all of your outfits, and where in the world are you going to store that sign & sail card. They offer a pre-punched hole.
