Tipping onboard a cruise to Asia

Hi, what currency should I be tipping employees while onboard my upcoming cruise in Asia ? I was thinking US dollar. Tks in advance for your input.

Haven't taken a cruise to ASIA, but have had extensive experience here n there back in the day heheheh...I CAN tell you some things NEVER change.....GREENBACKS, my friend, are universal.....and they don't melt in the rain!!! (inside joke, you had to be there)
