For a cruise leaving the Manhattan Port, what are the best options for parking? We are several hours from NY and were planning on driving up the day before the cruise. Does anyone have any recommendations on hotels near the port or places we can park while we are on the cruise? I've read that parking at the port is very pricey. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Parking options for Cruise leaving Manhattan Port

There is another option.
My building has a parking garage, and we live about 15 min. from the pier. I could find out how much it would cost for the week. You would have to take a car service but that's about $30 each way. Maybe less.
At the pier, parking is $40 / night, ( last I checked ) up to 10 nights. Cash, Visa, MC. Pay as you enter, and let the nice dog check your car. . I have heard that some NJ hotels offer parking and a shuttle, but I don't know which ones do this. The pier is at 54th (ish) & 12th ave. If you go online and check Pier 88 parking, you may find a nearby lot that will offer a discount for the week. You would have to book online for the offer. Garages to look for are, I-Park, Quick Park, ICON, and several others. Some save you up to 50% vs parking at the pier. However, keep in mind, when you get home you will have to get to your car. We have found the convenience of parking AT the pier is worth the cost. When you first arrive, you unload your luggage, walk over to the elevator, and begin your check in as you get off. When you come home, you go up to the lot, get in your car, and leave. Very convenient. No cab fares to pay.
Try Parkwhiz.com. They show the lot directly across the street from the pier for $25, but I would call to verify that one.
also search "Pier 88 parking, NYC."
Parking is very pricey. Good luck finding someplace reasonable.
