Good morning all!
I totally didn't think about parking for the cruise, any of you have suggestions for parking in Galveston? I didn't realize there were so many parking places. Last time we went i think there were only 2 parking lots so there wasn't much to chose from. Now, I see there are a bunch of place. So who is the good, the bad and the ugly?
We live 34 miles from Galveston and all cruises we go on out of Galveston, we use Light house parking. They have a web page and if you get on their e mail they will send a coupon code for $10 off parking. They get you to the ship fast. Their lots are high just in case a monsoon hits galveston and floods the street.
Who says you can't teach an old dog? Thanks for that...! might consider them next time we cruise out of GAL.

We've cruised out of Galveston, used ...wait for it...GALVESTON PARK N CRUISE..directly across the street from the pier ..(on New Strand St)...covered indoor...reserve a spot in advance. they have a website, did the whole thing online, called em once with a question, pleasant folks as I remember... ...and GOOGLING "Galveston cruise parking" gets you a map complete with icons. We dropped our bags off, then parked, and walked over to the terminal.. no biggie at all.. we prefer indoors and they have it. The "pier parking" is outside, and sort of reminded us of a Walmart lot..only tighter.
Nothing beats remembering what you forgot eh?
Good information to be aware of. Too bad this site does not have icons showing parking options or links for each embarkation port in the US.
I usually use the parking lots (A & B) that are operated by the port.
I had an issue once where they didn't open quickly and I went to port parking (https://www.portparking.com/) and it was fine too.
Truth is, I've never had a significant problem with the parking at Galveston.
