Onboard Specialty Restauramts

Have you had a good (or bad) experience at a Specialty (i.e., cost extra) shipboard dining experience?

I will give you my top 3. These three reside in my all-time top 10 meals - EVER !!!

Princess Cruises - Crown Grill. Outstanding from start to finish. Princess Cruises - Sabatini's. So much excellent food - but the chocolate 'bomb' dessert - amazing ! Celebrity Edge - Le Petite Chef. Your dinner played out in animation on your plate. So memorable !

What Specialty Restaurants would you recommend - OR - warn to stay away ???

P.S. Prices are approximately $29 extra per person (+/-)

Bon appetite Yummy

We did Jamie's Italian Grille and Johnny Rockets (breakfast only) on Royal. My niece now knows why Johnny Rockets is one of Auntie's favorite restaurants! We both love the 50's motif, and the breakfast was pretty decent (we were expecting something like pancakes and scrambled eggs, which they had, but they also had French Toast, omelets, etc.), all for free (it's free on Oasis class ships for breakfast only).

Jamie's had some of the best lasagnas I ever had. Unfortunately, it was over $50 a person cover charge. With that said, there were appetizers....and appetizers...and more appetizers! The bread and everything was brought out on a coterie board, which had every kind of bread you could possibly imagine on it, as well as various cheeses and dips.

Steakhouse : NCL’s CAGNEYS. Best at sea

Something different : again NCL for the French dining ( I forget the name, it’s been awhile) . The French onion soup and the escargot are amazing.

Lastly : any restaurant that’s open 24 hrs.

edit:: LeBistro. I knew it was Le something

Well, I have to give the Princess Sabatini's top marks

as well as the Bistro on Norwegian, top notch as well.

I would give 1/2 marks to the Grill on Princess, lack of originality in prep and presentation.

I don't expect, due to scale of the amount of items and people served, a 5 start rating on any of the food services onboard. However, I can sometime be surprised and impressed by the effort.

Sorry. Prior to posting, the three restaurants were bulleted, on their own lines. Looked nice !!

The actual initial posting - which I cannot edit - has no bullets, and, a wrapped text. Angry
